THE DAY:-
CBGS's 2014 Season was concluded at Davenport Golf Club as Captain Dean Willcox got out of his sick bed to play in his own Captains Day! Hat's off to him!
A disappointing turn out to be fair but this event had been an add on after postponement of the fixture at Chapel earlier in the season. At least the sun shone and the nine enjoyed the course.
Peter Draper took the honours and justified his position as Order of Merit Winner for 2014. After competing in six events his round average was the best pipping both Ben Jackson (2nd) and former winner Dean Willcox (3rd).
In runners up spot on the day was Ed Beckett (16) with a decent 30pt haul. Matt Beresford came 3rd with 29pts - the highlight of his round being almost an eagle on the stroke index one 6th hole putting his 5 iron six inches from the hole!
The CBGS are definitely including DAVENPORT on their 2015 roster! - it's an fantastic course and the greens were wonderful!
The day was concluded back at the restaurant with 12 diners enjoying a prize presentation banquet meal! Dean Willcox managed to scoop the £45 birdie draw after his 5 iron stinger to six foot. It cheered him up no end after a tough day in his last day in the Captains office!
